We love a power duo, especially when diamonds are involved. Monique Lhuillier has teamed up with Kay Jewelers to create a romantic bridal jewelry collection as part of a “dream come true” partnership for the two industry-leading brands. “Kay is the authority in the [fine jewelry] space, ”says Lhuillier Brides. Authority itself, the Monique Lhuillier empire offers ready-to-wear, lingerie, interior decoration, perfumes, accessories and, of course, wedding dresses.
The Monique Lhuillier BLISS collection is a natural extension of its brand. “The amount of detail I put in my dresses, you’ll see in the rings,” she says. “I am very influenced by flowers and lace, so you will see all this work interpreted in metals and diamonds.” The collection includes engagement rings and wedding bands set in white, rose and yellow gold. There is a center stone option for each style, including round, oval, pear, emerald, marquise, and princess diamonds.
Symbolism is a theme that runs through the collection. “[A ring] symbolizes a milestone and also the optimism of building a life together, ”she said. “You are going to wear [your engagement ring] every day before the wedding and for the rest of your life so I wanted it to be really special. which serves as a little love note to the couple.
I just want to put things in there that will make someone’s life better, that’s my design philosophy.
Beyond the jewelry itself, she also designed the ring boxes to be functional and discreet, fitting perfectly into a pocket or suit jacket. She even thought of the pedestals in the windows that you will find exclusively at certain Kay places, inspired by the natural and twirling movement of a wedding dress. “I just want to put things in there that will make someone’s life better, that’s my design philosophy.”
