GIA India held the graduation ceremony for jewelry design students at its Mumbai campus. Vijay Golecha, owner and jewelry designer, Golecha’s Jewels was the main guest. Also present at the ceremony Sriram Natarajan, Managing Director, GIA India, and Apoorva Deshingkar, Senior Director – Education and Market Development, GIA India.

Addressing the students, Vijay Golecha shared some personal life lessons and valuable insights into the gemstone and jewelry industry. He said, “The best thing that ever happened to you is that you all graduated from the GIA. All you have to do is follow your dreams. Equipped with the knowledge gained from the GIA, go ahead and pursue them. There are plenty of designers in the industry with far better resources than you, which will give them easy access to gemstones and valuable materials. In the end, it is your knowledge and the finesse of your jewelry design that will set you apart.“He encouraged students to”compete with oneself.” Sriram Natarajan said, “The GIA education prepares students to embark on a career in jewelry design and I wish them the best of luck.” Finally, Apoorva Deshingkar addressed a few words of encouragement to the graduate students.
