Andreas Kronthaler, creative director of Vivienne Westwood and the designer’s lifetime partner, is here to remind us that not all jewelry has to be delicate and repetitive. In its Spring-Summer 2022 collection, Kronthaler presents an elegant jewelry collection inspired by oversized and assertive costume jewelry.

In this collection, the Austrian designer played on theatrical proportions in reference to the natural world. By incorporating natural materials such as pearls and pearls, Kronthaler takes a unique approach to statement jewelry by keeping the elegance and complexity of the pieces intact and forgoing the stickiness that is typically associated with costume jewelry.

“All worlds are a stage…costume jewelry helps you be seen. It’s a celebration. You can make any situation an occasion with this jewelry,” Kronthaler said.

The collection comprises seven pieces, including the Frances necklace and earrings made of molded resin beads in the shape of soft pearls in pastel colors. Leandra’s paper bead tiara and earrings in orange and yellow hues resemble seashell-shaped constellations and warm sunrise tones. The Pauletta earrings are in the shape of a heart, synonymous with the house, and made with crocheted brass.

The Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood collection is available exclusively at Vivienne Westwood Couture, Vivienne Westwood Worlds End and VivienneWestwood.com.
