Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele never ceases to amaze us with his brilliant design eye to merge the luxury of haute couture with the enchanting wonders of nature. Designed with rich and vibrant hues and silhouettes, this second collection is inspired by the symbolic motifs dear to creative director Alessandro Michele and the Italian luxury house, drawn from the vast canon of the Maison’s iconography. The intricate design patterns are divided into four chapters drawing inspiration from the fleeting beauty of the natural world, starry sky landscapes and wonderful sunsets. The first chapter presents the collection through an ode to the majestic beauty of natural landscapes, recreating the great outdoors as treasured intimate talismans, cascading diamonds and an array of purple and plum spinels. The collection explores the saturated and hypnotic hues of a sunset sky through very romantic and gothic styles for the second phase. In the third chapter of Hortus Deliciarum, the romance of a rose garden forms the basis of the most delicate and feminine tale to date by incorporating light-colored gems, rococo bows and dazzling brooches. The final chapter revisits the animal kingdom, evoking the mythical bestiary and ancient fauna, a design motif Michele has been well known for since his early days at Gucci.
